Peaceful mind online therapy will collect and use such information only as needed and as is relevant to the provision of therapy or consultation services as requested by you. Examples of the information collected and why, is described below.
Your personal information may be used by Peaceful mind online therapy to provide therapy services or information to you, to respond to phone calls, emails or provide resources to augment your therapy experience.
Peaceful mind online therapy has an encrypted contact form. This form requests your name and email address so that we can contact you to arrange a time for your free consultation. We return requests for consultations via email or phone call.
At the time of the initial email we collect:
Your name, address, phone number and email address.
This is to ensure that you are the person who is seeking therapy and we can contact with you outside of the session if needed, during an emergency or for therapy.
Any information you choose to share about your personal situation, past or present is for the purpose of providing therapy and collaborating with you on a treatment plan.
Email is not considered a secure and confidential way of communicating. For the protection of your privacy, please do not email information you would not be comfortable discussing in a public space. Peaceful Mind Online Therapy is happy to confidentially discuss your concerns either in session, or during your free consultation.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name and email address using cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again should you leave another comment. Cookies last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Your identity, attendance and all personal information communicated by you in therapy is strictly confidential, with the following exceptions:
- You have expressed the desire to harm yourself or someone else.
- In situations of suspected or known child abuse/neglect or suspected elder abuse or neglect, reporting is required by law; failure to do so could result in harm to the child or adult in question, in addition to professional penalties such as fines, jail time and the removal of licence to practice.
- Should the therapy record be subpoenaed by the court.
- If Peaceful mind online therapy is requesting clinical consultation or supervision; no identifying information about you is released.
- Should Peaceful Mind Online Therapy be required to retain the services of a collection agency or seek legal counsel.
- Should Peaceful Mind Online Therapy need to retain the services of a bookkeeper who handles copies of receipts.
- Should public health officials require the disclosure of names of people with whom Peaceful mind online therapy has had recent contact.
Peaceful Mind Online Therapy is not authorised to disclose your personal information to any third party without your express written and signed consent. Peaceful mind online therapy cannot respond to requests from concerned family members or friends about clients’ attendance, disclosure in session or the treatment plan; please talk to your loved ones directly. This also applies to family members or friends who are paying for the client’s sessions.

Peaceful Mind Online Therapy treats all aspects of your personal information with the greatest care and takes active steps to protect your information.
Peaceful Mind Online Therapy also provides secure video, audio or typed therapy through the online platform Zoom. Sessions are anonymous and are not recorded or stored.
Any email exchanges are also part of the personal record.
Clients have a right to view or receive a copy of their file, or portions of the file.
If you leave a comment on the website, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
You can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
